Guam

Guam is Micronesia’s heart. This 30 miles long island is a cosmopolitan center of 100,000 residents. English and Chamorro are the main language spoken here. Guam is a U.S. Territory and it is a major tourist destination.

This scenic island offers lush jungles, remote bays, waterfalls and warm, clear ocean waters. Wet seasons runs from May till November. The earlier half of the year enjoys the cool trade winds. Water temperature is tropical and underwater visibility averages about 100 feet. Here it has more than 300 species of corals and 900 varieties of fish. It is not uncommon to do beach dives here. As airfare is steep, Guam remains diving's’ best kept secret.

Marshall Island

This may be the next hot dive location with initials reports being extremely positive but there are few facilities. The wrecks around Bikini atoll the site of post world war 2 nuclear test are now being dived.

Palau, part of the Western Caroline Islands, in the Western Pacific Ocean, is located midway between the Philippines and Guam, about 400 miles north of the Equator in Micronesia. Acclaimed by marine scientists and underwater photographers alike, Palau Lagoon is recognized as the Seventh Underwater Wonder of the World.

A coral atoll 93 miles long and 18 miles wide, this well protected lagoon contains a sprinkling of 328 small, jungle covered islands. Narrow channels wind their way among these mushroom shaped islands, providing a network of boating waterways. Locke within this tropical wilderness are some of nature's most wonderful mysteries. Monkeys, fruit bats, rare birds and crocodiles still run free in this jungle habitat.

Diving in Palau is best known for its sheer vertical wall diving, colorful soft corals and giant gorgonian fans of many colors. Other highlights are Chandelier Cave, a series of three interconnected undersea chambers filled with crystalline stalactites. More the 60 World War II Japanese shipwrecks and aircraft lie on the sea floor of the lagoon, scattered among the islands.

Unique cultures and traditional way of life is the highlights in the islands of Yap. There are few hotels, restaurants, bars and some offices on the island of Colonia. Men still wear Loincloths and women wear grass skirts or lava lavas. Permission is required before entering any village hence a guide that speaks Yapese is a must. Diving is only getting started here so careful planning is essential as the island has only very limited operators and gears. Yap Day is March 1 and a true cultural delight. Yap is already renowned by divers around the world as the "Home of the Mantas".

Saipan

The island claims some of the cleanest ocean water in the tropics and visibility can exceed 75 meters. Dive like Shou Maru a sunken Japanese fighter and Senahom Cave are unforgettable. Saipan is geared to the Japanese market so both prices and language can present problem.

Truk Lagoon

Famous for being the graveyard of Japanese warships that went down in February and April 1944 by the Americans air attack. This Japanese "Pearl Harbor" has the most beautiful artificial reefs in the world.

The islands of Truk are still very remote. Electricity is scarce however in recent years there are development of hotels and resorts. Besides this are lush jungles and scenic hills. Remnants of war are still littered all around the island. We currently organize trips here on live aboard such as the Thornfin. Staying on the island in resorts or with locals can also be specially arranged.
